The Red Devils are desperately seeking to sign a top central defender this summer who they want to come into the team and partner club captain Harry Maguire at the heart of their defense. United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær reportedly does not have enough trust in Victor Lindelöf and has told the club’s board that the signing of another central defender should be made a top priority.
Part of the reasons United missed out on the title this reason has been because of some mistakes their defenders have made in some of their matches, and it’s something Solksjær is keen to correct. When compared to Manchester City, the New Premier League champions boast top names in their defensive department and this has been very pivotal in their run to emerging as the 2020/2021 champions.
Manchester United and Leeds United, two clubs that have one of the oldest rivalries between them, will lock horns on Sunday in the Premier League, and for so many reasons, it is expected to be a cracker of a clash. The rivalry between the two sides is set to be rekindled when the Red Devils travel to Elland Road in a bid to claim a league double over their rivals.
Although the rivalry that exists between the two clubs has deteriorated in the last couple of years as a result of the fact that Leeds suffered relegation to the country’s lower league division, it is still a match that will promise to unleash a battle of tactics and several other key battles.
Even though the summer transfer window is still some months away from us, teams are already preparing themselves for the twists and turns that will come with it once it finally arrives. Top clubs across Europe and far beyond are already making plans and preparing lists of players they would love to sign, as well as the ones they will like to chalk off their wage bill.
One of the said clubs that will reportedly be busy in the summer is Manchester United. The Red Devils have fallen short of points in the title race against bitter rivals Manchester City and will reportedly go into the summer transfer window with the simple agenda of signing players that can help them compete for the title next season.
The Red Devils have been dealt a huge transfer setback in their chase of RB Leipzig defender DayotUpamecano after it was recently confirmed that the French center-back has chosen to join rivals Bayern Munich instead.
Upamecano has been a long-term transfer target for United manager Olé Gunnar Solskjær and it was even reported earlier this week that the 22-year-old might be heading to Old Trafford in the summer after it was confirmed that he would be leaving Leipzig. Continue reading

Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani is a big doubt for the Red Devils ahead of their league meeting with bottom club Sheffield United in the Premier League. One of the most famous footballers of France Paul Pogba has been stamped as a problem for Manchester United according to the coach Paul Ince.
He has advised Pogba to forget about his previous team Real Madrid and focus on his current team. The transfer from the LA Liga giants Real Madrid to the English Premier League giants Manchester United, created great hype and supporters tied their hope with Paul Pogba that he will help the team to show tremendous performance in the English Premier League matches.
Paul Pogba will have a new role at Old Trafford from next season with the arrival of Donny van de Beek. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (OGS) has enough options in midfield now, aside reports that Thiago Alcantara might join from Bayern.
With Bruno Fernandes playing the role of attacking midfielder, the 23-year old is expected to partner him while Pogba plays deeper. Could this be similar to the 4-3-3 system Guardiola employed at Manchester City? VDB played a deeper role at Ajax where he is coming from but says he also wants to make runs in, score and create chances as well. Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has hailed the performances of Brazilian Fred at the club this season. The former goalkeeper says Fred is a great story to come out of Old Trafford this term and that he has been crucial in the rebirth of the club.
Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the club started well but after the manager was confirmed it seemed things would fall apart. OGS asked that the fans trust the process. Eventually the club added Bruno Fernandes and made some changes this term. They are now pushing for a Champions League spot which would make the season at the very least a decent one, considering their recent travails since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
Manchester United former player turn coach Michael Carrick has named his Quarantine XI, ingeniously naming football stars based on household items around his house. With most parts of Europe on lockdown due to the Covid-19 crisis, more people are relying on social media to keep sane. Carrick challenged his social media followers to follow his trend and come up with more creative Quarantine XI based on items they can find in their household.
On his IG page, Carrick found honey and named it after Manchester united striker Anthony Martial, naming it ‘Ant Honey Martial.’ He found biscuits and named it after Barcelona defensive midfield maestro Sergio Busquets, with his version ‘Sergio Biscuits’.
