ETH STARTS UNITED CAREER AT HOME

\New Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag (ETH) will start his managerial career at home in the Premier League after the fixtures for the new season were released on Thursday.

Manchester United have turned to Dutchman Ten Hag in their quest to get back to the top of English football and European football as well. Ten Hag left Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam to take up the managerial job at Manchester United ahead of the new season.

Ten Hag would be looking to improve Manchester United drastically after the disappointing campaign of the just concluded season. The Red Devils failed to qualify for Champions League football after finishing sixth at the end of the season. To this effect, Ten Hag and Manchester United will play in the Europa League rather than the Champions League in the new season.

Dutchman Ten Hag will start his Manchester United career with the visit of Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Sunday, August 7. Manchester United will take on the Seagulls at home in the first game on the first Sunday of the new season. Brighton recorded their best season in the English top flight after finishing ninth on the final Premier League table last term. The Graham Potter-led team sealed their place in the top nine on the final day of the latest Premier League campaign with the 3-1 home win over West Ham United. Brighton came from behind at the interval to score three second half goals to win the points on offer.

Manchester City are the reigning Premier League championsafter winning their fourth title in five seasons during the just concluded campaign. They would start the defence of their title at London club West Ham United in what’s the last game of the opening weekend. The game will be played shortly after the duel between Manchester United and Brighton on Sunday.
