UNITED TARGET SECOND SUCCESSIVE LEAGUE WIN

Manchester United can make it two wins in a row on the Premier League stage if they beat fellow top-four chasers West Ham United at home this weekend. West Ham United and Manchester United are two of several teams fighting for a Champions League spot ahead of the next season. Only a place in the top-four will guarantee Champions League football next season apart from winning the Europa League and the Champions League. The London trio of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also in the fight for a top-four spot.

Manchester United have recovered well from the disappointment of losing their first game of this year at the hands of Wolves in the league. The Red Devils were beaten 1-0 at home by Wolves with veteran Portugal international Joao Moutinho getting the winner eight minutes from time. The home loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers was followed by the 1-0 home victory over Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round thanks to the first half goal from Scott McTominay.

The Ralf Rangnick-led Manchester United side returned to league action against Aston Villa away from home and they could have easily won the game. Villa came from two goals down to play out a 2-2 draw. Bruno Fernandes scored twice for Manchester United during the game with a goal in each half, but his goals were cancelled out by a goal apiece from the Villa duo of Jacob Ramsey and Philippe who was making his debut for the club.

Manchester United returned to winning ways in the league with the 3-1 win at Brentford on Wednesday night. The Red Devils got their goals through Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and second half substitute Marcus Rashford who was able to end his goal drought. The England international had not scored for 11 games before the game against the Bees.
