I was there in the milton upper. As injury time went on the crowd started to leave and I was just at the entrance of the terrace as Barry let rip, incredible scenes. Being just 13 at the time I was then almost floated up to the back of the terrace. Managed to get back to my original position soon enough Some others I was with said pandemonium broke loose on the milton road as the hundreds who had walked out ran back in to catch injury time. Happy days when football was a proper sport!

And yes, Southampton had beaten Man Utd 2-4 on penalties, in a replay at Old Trafford, in the previous round, following a 0-0 draw at The Dell.

Unbelievable goal from Barry Horne. Saints lost an away replay to Norwich City in the next round 2-1 (aet), following a 0-0 draw at home.

Great game but david felgate let us down that night, saying that he was never any good. Have you got the game at burnden? we did well to get it to a replay.
