UNITED BOSS INSISTS ON £85 MILLION TRANSFER

Sensational report from Portugal claims that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on signing Sporting Lisbon ace Bruno Fernandes.  Fernandes has caught the eye of several clubs after his record-breaking season for Sporting Lisbon.

The 24-year-old has a release clause of £85 million and United rivals Manchester City are also interested in the midfielder.

Fernandes became the first midfielder in the top 6 leagues to score more than 31 goals in all competitions eclipsing Frank Lampard record at Chelsea.

Solskjaer is understood to have told the board at United that Fernandes is central to his plans to rebuild ahead of next season.

The Norwegian tactician wants the club to spend on a midfielder, forward and right-back in the transfer window.  Sporting Lisbon are willing to sell Fernandes and there were reports that a fee of £58 million had been accepted from Man City.

This is not the case as it was revealed that Manchester City have not contacted Sporting Lisbon leaving United as the clear favourites to sign the midfielder.

Manchester United could also sell one or two players to fund the transfer with Arsenal reportedly interested in Eric Bailly.

Bailly was the first signing during the tenure of Jose Mourinho joining from Villareal in a deal worth £30 million.

United want to recoup the money they spent on the player and are opened to selling the defender in the summer for £30 million.

Fernandes arrival would improve the quality of the midfield. United fans would be happy at the prospect of a midfield consisting of Pogna, Fernandes and Matic.

It is too early to conclude but all signs points to United as the next destination for the 24-year old attacking midfielder.

United have also lined up a move for West Ham star Felipe Anderson as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
